En un litro y medio de agua puesto a hervir se incorpora la sémola la cual se retira y se deja en reposo cinco o seis minutos, todo esto se pone nuevamente al fuego a cocer durante un tiempo de 10 minutos, añadiendo entonces la cucharada sopera de mantequilla, retirar y reposar. En una fuente poner la sémola en forma de corona y colocar en su centro la carne y verduras. El caldo se sirve aparte empleándolo a gusto de los comensales y añadiéndolo al cuscús, si estos los consideran oportuno. Se recomienda servir caliente.
